ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING
Approach and Activities
Lewisville’s Economic Development and Planning Department is unique. Lewisville is largely developed with limited vacant land available. This creates a dynamic and challenging setting in which the community must carefully plan for its economic future, often involving multiple stakeholders such as residents, landowners, developers, community organizations and other governmental entities. The Department focuses on high-impact opportunities for Lewisville. Three Divisions work hand in hand to create an effective workforce in meeting the community’s needs, goals and future plans.
Economic Development
The Economic Development Division is committed to fostering a vibrant and rewarding business environment in the City. Major emphasis is placed on long range planning for economic prosperity, retaining local businesses and recruiting new companies. A sustainable and productive business climate is created by using a variety of incentives and cooperative programs. For more information please see www.ecodevlewisville.com

This Division works with multiple boards including the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Old Town Development Review Committee and the Brownfields Advisory Committee.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
The Grant Division implements the CDBG grant program which includes working with various social service agencies and community organizations. CDBG funds are used to address various issues with low to moderate income neighborhoods including infrastructure improvements, housing rehabilitation, 1st time home buyer programs and funding for non-profit organizations that provide services to Lewisville residents.
