North Central Texas Council of Governments

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development

North Texas Tollway Authority

The NTTA, a political subdivision of the State of Texas under Chapter 366 of the Transportation Code, is empowered to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects; to raise capital for construction projects through the issuance of Turnpike Revenue Bonds; and to collect tolls to operate, maintain and pay debt service on those projects. It operates the George Bush Tollway and North Dallas Tollway.

Denton County Transportation Authority

The DCTA, a political subdivision authorized by countywide vote and funded through a half-cent sales tax in Lewisville, Highland Village and Denton, is charged with developing and operating a public transportation system in Denton County. Current services include circuit bus routes in Lewisville and Denton and commuter buses connecting the three participating cities with downtown Dallas. Regional rail is expected to begin in 2010.
