We selected Lewisville as the prime location for Benedict Optical, one of the largest ophthalmic laboratories in the country, for several reasons. Our business being in an industry requiring expedient service nationwide requires a centralized location with easy access to air couriers to the rest of the country. This is fulfilled by the city's close proximity to DFW Airport. Lewisville provides us with a market for hard working, motivated personnel, which satisifies the skilled labor needs of our business. Medical Center of LewisvilleThe Medical Center of Lewisville has been providing healthcare services in Lewisville for the past 25 years. During the past 12 years, the Medical Center has completed several expansion programs to grow our facility and services. Each time, the City staff and City Councils have been very supportive. The process they have in place to do plan reviews is excellent and allowed us to move our projects to completion without delay.
During the conceptual planning for our current (2001) expansion, our decision to keep our facility in Lewisville and at our current site was largely influenced by our past relations with the City of Lewisville and the encouragement we received from them for this project. The Medical Center of Lewisville, our architects, engineers and contractors are all very pleased with the professional and expeditious manner in which the City of Lewisville has worked with us to keep our project development on schedule.
