City, Toyota of Lewisville reach agreement on park naming The city has reached a 10-year, $1.5 million agreement with Toyota of Lewisville for naming rights of the city’s new 274-acre athletic complex, which now will be officially known as Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park. the contract was approved unanimously this evening by the Lewisville City Council. The deal was brokered by Plano-based CSL Marketing Group on behalf of the city and takes effect on October 1. It is the City’s first naming rights agreement for a municipal facility. New park signage will be installed in phases starting this fall. “It’s a great thing to find a good corporate citizen wanting to make a long-term commitment to the people of Lewisville,” said Mayor Dean Ueckert. “The city is always looking for ways to work with our business community to benefit our residents, and this partnership with Toyota of Lewisville is something that all Lewisville residents should be excited about.” Rene Isip, owner of Toyota of Lewisville since it opened in 2004, said the naming rights sponsorship represents a long-term commitment to the entire Lewisville community. “We chose Lewisville as the home for our dealership,” Isip said. “Many of our customers are from here, and many of our employees as well, so it makes sense to form a partnership with the city where we draw so much support. Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park is a beautiful, modern facility that will be enjoyed by millions of people during the next 10 years, and we are proud to be associated with it.” Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park is expected to draw between 500,000 and 1 million visitors annually for youth leagues, sports tournaments, special events and recreational use. The park already has been the site of such events as the Panda Cup International Soccer Tournament, American Southwest Conference Women’s Softball Championship, Texas Firefighter Olympics and Regional Amateur Tour (RAT) Skateboarding. Construction of the park took a little more than a year and cost $20 million, making it the largest capital project in the city’s history. It was paid for through a dedicated quarter-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2002 for library and park projects. Key components of the park are eight lighted soccer fields with championship-quality hybrid turf and bleacher seating; four football fields with scoreboards; four baseball/softball fields with 400-foot outfield fences; three concession buildings with covered patios; three manmade lakes; a 1.5-mile walking trail; the city’s first skate park; and the city’s first dog park.
