The City Secretary is an officer of the City, appointed by the City Council. The position of the City Secretary is a statutory position required by State law and the City Charter. In addition to statutory duties, the City Secretary serves as the Director of the Office of the City Secretary, which oversees Election Administration; Records Management; Public Information; the appointment process of Boards and Commissions; and alcohol permits. The City Secretary also serves as the local registrar for birth and death records for the City of Lewisville.
