Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

The City of Lewisville under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 was awarded $151,565 in Community Development Block Grant funds (CDBG-R). CDBG-R funds are intended to provide investment in community development priorities to assist with efforts to stimulate the economy, provide jobs, modernize homes to make them energy efficient, and help the families and communities hardest hit by the economic crisis, among others. To receive the funds, the City submitted a substantial amendment to its 2009 Annual Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

All items associated with CDBG-R substantial amendment are provided in the links below. The Amended CDBG Annual Action is available below as well as at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W Church St., 2nd Floor Planning & Community Services Division.

The CDBG-R funds were originally programmed for sanitary sewer replacement on Edwards St. That project is complete. The remaining funds are proposed to be used for Planning, Social Services, and Minor Housing Repairs. Public hearings will be held before the CDBG Adviosry Committee and City Council.
