Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)


The City of Lewisville under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 was awarded $151,565 in Community Development Block Grant funds (CDBG-R). CDBG-R funds are intended to provide investment in community development priorities to assist with efforts to stimulate the economy, provide jobs, modernize homes to make them energy efficient, and help the families and communities hardest hit by the economic crisis, among others. To receive the funds, the City must submit a substantial amendment to its 2008 Annual Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by June 5, 2009.

All items associated with CDBG-R substantial amendment are provided below. After June 5, 2009, the Amended CDBG Annual Action will be available below and at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W Church St., 2nd Floor Planning & Community Services Division.

In the Substantial Amendment, the City proposed to spend the CDBG-R allocation on a Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Project on Edwards Street from Charles to Edna.
