Community Development Block Grant Overview
The City’s Housing and Neighborhood Programs are primarily funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The purpose of the CDBG program is to provide decent housing, create a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities principally for low and moderate income persons. CDBG funds are awarded to carry out a variety of community development, housing, infrastructure, and public service needs.
