A Shift

BC Cunningham and FIT Feldpausch

On behalf of the 40 members of A Shift, it is my privilege to welcome you to our Web Page. My name is Jerry Cunningham, and I serve as the Battalion Chief for A Shift.

Like any family, the different shifts of the Lewisville Fire Department have distinctly different personalities and character traits. Ours might best be described as the “type A” personality. We are a very close-knit group who take enormous pride in the services we provide to the citizens of Lewisville, working in dangerous environments and unpredictable situations on a daily basis.

All of the members of A Shift would like to extend an invitation to the citizens of Lewisville to stop by one of the seven fire houses in your neighborhood and get to know us. We look forward to meeting you.

B Shift

BC Wells and FIT Apple

Hello, and thanks for stopping by and visiting with B-Shift. I am Jerry Wells and I have the privilege of being the B-Shift Battalion Chief. I am assisted with shift operations by Driver/Engineer Gary Apple who serves as B-Shift's Field Incident Technician. This Fire Department has a rank structure that includes Firefighters, Driver Engineers and Captains. We have many different personalities and character traits that help us give you the very best service.

Our personnel are very compassionate and caring. We strive to go the extra mile and treat each person or call, as we would want to “B” treated. B-Shift truly treats each call for service as if we were treating one of our own family members.

B-Shift is also proud of the Fire Safety Program performed by our LAFS volunteers. Special thanks to Reserves Brian Jarvis and Jeff Christenson for taking the time to teach children about fire safety. These members have given extra effort, including training and time, in developing this program. Another part of our Reserve Division that deserves our gratitude is the Rehab Unit. This truck is manned, maintained and operated by special volunteers. They respond to major incidents with the purpose of hydrating, feeding and warming/cooling our first responders. They are a much welcomed sight to our firefighters!

I’m also very pleased to let you know that our experience level is of varying degrees. We have firefighters ranging from new recruit to 30+ years of experience. I rely heavily on the more tenured firefighters to help mentor and pass along experience to the newer ones.

We hope to meet you at the grocery store, your child’s school, or doing a tour/demonstration.

Should you need us for an emergency response, rest assured we will give you our very best. We have a great group of people here to help mitigate your emergency, whatever it may be. Feel free to stop by and visit any one of our firehouses. We would enjoy the opportunity to meet you and tell you more about our profession.

C Shift

BC Kohn and FIT Feldpausch

Hi, my name is Gregory Kohn and I have the good fortune to be assigned as the Battalion Commander for C Shift. All of us on C Shift are proud to be members of this great Department. We are equally proud to be members of the team that forms C Shift. A historical review of the fire service would reveal that C Shift has been known as the misfit shift. However, the personnel assigned to C Shift for the Lewisville Fire Department clearly do not fit this mold. This group of men could best be described as a diverse, dedicated, and talented group that brings a variety of assets to the team. The very foundation of our team is built on pride, honor, and integrity. You can see these values reflected in our men each and every day.

There are countless acts of duty that deserve commendation from brother and sister firefighters at the Lewisville Fire Department and around the country. I am certain that my bias as a C Shifter with the Lewisville Fire Department tends to make me think that I work with the best of them all.
