The Division of Support Services oversees a variety of functions within our department such as EMS, Fire Investigations, Emergency Management, and Public Education along with budget administration and data/records management.

Our EMS division has 65 Firefighters who are cross-trained as paramedics. We provide two paramedics per ambulance (or medic units) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Currently, we have 4 medic units in service with two medic units in reserve. Twelve of these Firefighter Paramedics serve as Field Training Officers (FTO). They assist with training, teaching and overall quality control in the field. Division Chief Ricky Reeves handles everything from administrative issues such as ordering supplies, inventory control, certifications, and continuing education to supervisory issues such as mentoring and coaching of our members. Additionally, Chief Reeves oversees our Ambulance Billing Division. Chief Reeves brings 25 plus years of EMS experience to our department

Fire Investigation Division is responsible for all investigations such as fire, arson, and pre-employment background checks. The Division Chief in this position is a firefighter and a sworn peace officer who oversees this division. He currently has 15 firefighters that are cross trained as fire investigators to assist in carrying out the division duties. My K-9 Partner, Aretha, has moved with me to my new position as Assistant Chief.

Maureen DuSold is our Data Management Technician who has the responsibility of keeping our records and computers working together, which can be very interesting at times. She processes requests for open and EMS records and is responsible for state reporting.

Emergency Management and Public education is coordinated by Division Chief Steve Carter. We have an Open House at Central Fire Station during Fire Prevention Week each October where we spread the word about fire prevention and other safety related issues. We have two educational trailers that are used to train kids on fire safety. Chief Carter also coordinates our Juvenile Fire Starters Program, Blazing the Trail for Literacy, Vested for Life, Citizens Fire Academy and our Reserve Program. You will find our department members and equipment at special events in our community throughout the year. Please bring your families to the nearest fire house so we can get know each other while helping your family learn about fire safety. If you are interested in scheduling a tour of one of our stations or a visit from our firefighters, please contact us at 972-219-3739.
