Early Voting Begins April 30
Early voting for the May 12 municipal election begins Monday, April 30. Early Voting is being held at the Lewisville Municipal Annex, 1197 W. Main Street. The positions of Mayor and City Council Place No. 2 are on the ballot.

Early voting will take place April 30-May 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and May 7-8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lewisville voters registered in Denton County can cast an early ballot at any Denton County early polling location. Lewisville voters living n Dallas County can only cast early ballot at the Municipal Annex.

Election Day voting will be Saturday, May 12, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polling places are based on voting precinct as follows:

      - Denton County Election Precincts 3018, 3013, 3019, 3020, 3021: Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street

      - Denton County Election Precincts 3012, 3013, 3014, 3015, 3016, 3017, 3022, 3023: Memorial Park Recreation Center, 1950B S. Valley Parkway

- Denton County Election Precincts 3006, 3007, 3008, 3009, 3010, 3011 and Dallas County Election Precincts 2400, 2807, 2808, 2810, 2910, 2911: Lewisville Municipal Annex, 1197 W. Main Street

DCTA Public Meeting
Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) will conduct public meetings to discuss recommendations for service improvements and modifications to DCTA Connect and A-Train. A meeting is scheduled at Lewisville City Hall Council Chambers, 151 West Church Street, on Thursday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. Those who live, work or go to school in Denton County are invited to attend the meeting, continue the discussion and provide additional feedback for consideration during the planning of the August 2012 service changes.

Xtreme Response Camp Registration Now Open
Registration is underway for the Xtreme Response Camp, to be held June 25-29. The camp, which provides a hands-on look at public safety and disaster preparedness, only has 30 slots available. Ages 12-16 are welcome at the camp, which will cover dive operations at Lewisville Lake, SWAT operations, vehicle extrication, live fire demonstration, K-9 search and rescue and more.

Visual Art League Schedules Oil Painting Demonstration at MCL Grand
On Tuesday, May 8, at 7 p.m., there will be an oil painting demonstration and plein air painter talk by Randy Saffle at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater. The event is open to the public and there is no charge.

Visual Art League is one of six local organizations to receive funding this year through the city’s Arts Support Grants program, administered by the Arts Advisory Board. For more information on VAL, visit visualartleague.org or call 972.420.9393.

Street and Sidewalk Repairs on Timber Way Dr.
The City of Lewisville Street Division has contracted with Ken-Do Contracting, LP to perform street and sidewalk repairs on Timber Way Dr. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 30, 2012 and be completed by Wednesday, May 9, 2012, weather permitting. Due to the use of heavy equipment, please use caution when transiting the area. Drivers should expect lane closures.
    Street and Sidewalk Repairs on Timber Way Dr.
    The City of Lewisville Street Division has contracted with Ken-Do Contracting, LP to perform street and sidewalk repairs on Timber Way Dr. The western entrance off of Timber Way Dr., to the alley that serves Timber Way Dr. and Creek Ct., will be closed for repairs beginning on Monday, April 30, 2012, and re-opened by Friday, May 4, 2012, weather permitting. This will require that trash be placed in front of the residences until the work has been completed. Residents will still be able to enter the alley from the eastern entrance off of Continental Dr.

    The City of Lewisville Street Division has contracted with Ken-Do Contracting, LP to perform street and sidewalk repairs on Terrence Ln., Hayden Dr. and Devin Ln. The western entrance off of Devin Ln. to the alley that serves Hayden Dr. and Valley View Dr. will be closed for repairs beginning on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, and re-opened by Monday, April 30, 2012, weather permitting. This will require that trash be placed in front of the residences until the work has been completed. Residents will still be able to enter the alley from the eastern entrance off of Terrence Ln.
      Alley Repairs Between Monarch and Cameo Dr.
      The City of Lewisville Street Division will be making alley repairs between Monarch and Cameo Dr. The alley will be closed to through traffic. Homeowners can enter from Kamla or Monarch. Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, and be completed on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, weather permitting. This will require that trash be placed in front of the residences until the work has been completed.
