Terrorism

Terrorism can happen abroad as well as at home as 9/11 proved to us. A terrorist’s primary weapon is terror so don’t give them what they want, have a plan and be prepared. You will feel much better if you do. Talk to your children about your plan and help them to understand it. This will make them feel much better too.

Preparing for a terrorist attack :

      · Have a disaster plan

      · Have a disaster supply kit

      · Identify an interior room that you can shelter in and block out contaminated air in case of a biological or chemical attack

      · Determine how you can minimize your exposure to radiation in case of a nuclear attack

      · Find out what the emergency plan is for your child’s school

      · Follow directions  from authorities

      · Stay alert and informed at all time

The levels of the Homeland Security Advisory System are as follows:

      · Red (Severe): Severe risk of terrorist attacks.

      · Orange (High): High risk of terrorist attacks.

      · Yellow (Elevated): Significant risk of terrorist attacks.

      · Blue (Guarded): General risk of terrorist attacks.

      · Green (Low): Low risk of terrorist attacks.
