Long Term Disability Insurance

Long term disability insurance is provided to all regular, full-time employees. No coverage is provided to regular, part-time or seasonal employees or retirees.

Premiums are paid by the City. There is no waiting period for eligible employees and coverage terminates on the date the employee's employment with the City terminates.

Long term disability insurance is designed to "replace" an employee's income temporarily if he or she becomes disabled from his or her own occupation due to disability, injury, or illness which occurs while covered regardless of whether the disability, injury, or illness occurred on or off the job.
