Public Library Activities

Grab a book and share new experiences with friends and family at the Lewisville Public Library, 1197 W. Main Street. The Library is open Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Weekly Storytime Classes – Spring 2016

January 9 – April 29  

Come experience storytime classes for the youngest library users. All weekly classes are held in the Bennett Program Room. A free ticket is required to attend classes; tickets are distributed on a first-come, first served basis at the Youth Services desk the day of the event 30 minutes before the class start time.

Free Vision Screenings 
Sunday, Feb. 26, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
The Lewisville LIONS Club offers free vision screenings that are quick, non-invasive, and available for all. Screenings will determine if there is a need to follow up with an eye doctor. Screenings are held at the Lewisville Public Library on the last Sunday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. No registration required. Open to all ages.


LEGOmania
All ages (Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult)

Sunday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m.

Imagine it, then build it. Join us for the thrills and spills of creating with Lego bricks. We have lots of Lego bricks to share (and Duplo blocks for younger builders). Bring your imagination and create whatever you like. No registration required.

Stay Crafty: Adult Craft Night
Tuesday, Feb. 28, 7-8 p.m.
Upcycling Wine Bottles

Make it and take it home at Stay Crafty, Lewisville Public Library's monthly craft event for Adults ages 18+. All supplies will be provided. To register, visit the library or call 972.219.3779.

Prime Explorations
Children ages 6-8
Thursday, March 2, 4 p.m., Teen Point

Join us every week for S.T.E.A.M. classes that incorporate age-appropriate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math activities especially for elementary students. Space is limited, and tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes before the class start time at the Youth Services desk.

First Friday Fun!
Children ages 3-6
Friday, Mar. 3, 11:30 a.m.

Come and sing, play, read, write, and talk your way to better literacy. This special storytime focuses on early literacy skills that build the foundation for reading and interacting with language. Fun for all preschoolers. No registration required.

AARP Tax Aide
Every Monday & Wednesday
February 1 - April 12, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
By appointment only
For ages 50+ only

AARP volunteers will be providing free income tax assistance to those ages 50 and over. Assistance is available on basic 2016 income tax returns. Volunteers are not able to assist with returns containing rental properties, farming or business expenses. Other restrictions may apply. Appointments must be made in advance, in person at the Lewisville Senior Center (1950 S Valley Pkwy.). A limited number of appointments are available, and there are no wait-list appointments available.
