The city's first positive West Nile Virus mosquito trap for 2017 has been confirmed. The positive sample came from a trap collected June 22, from the 500 block of Rachels Court. Ground spraying will be conducted in a half-mile radius of the testing location. Weather permitting, spraying is scheduled for Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29, starting at 9 p.m. each night.

Garden Secrets Classes - DIY Rain Barrel - Class Full

As of Monday, Jan. 23 this class is full. 

Join Keep Lewisville Beautiful for free community classes led by Denton County Master Gardeners and the Texas Agrilife Extension Office. 

The first class of the 2017 season "Saving From a Rainy Day, Making a Rain Barrel" will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at the MCL Grand, 100 N. Charles Street.

Come and learn the basics and benefits of rainwater harvesting and the effects storm water has on the environment.  Participants will learn how to collect and utilize rainwater at home and have the opportunity to construct their very own 55 gallon rain barrel.  The cost is $30 for the supplies and seating is limited to the first 30 who RSVP.
