46th Annual Labor Day Rodeo set for Sept. 3-5
 
rodeo   The Lewisville Saddle Club, with sponsorship from the City of Lewisville, will present the 46th Annual Labor Day Rodeo on Sept. 3-5, starting at 8 p.m. nightly, at the Mill Street Arena. Prices are $8 for adults, $6 for children age 6-11, and free for children 5 and under.

City’s pool season closes with Doggie Dive-In
 
pool   Sun Valley Aquatic Center, 801 S. Valley Parkway, started its weekends-only schedule Saturday, Aug. 21. The schedule will run through Labor Day. The hours of operation for Monday, Sept. 6 are noon to 6 p.m. Old Town Aquatic Park is closed for the remainder of the season.

“Buy a Boot: Kick-Start the Arts” auction begins Sept. 10
 
auction   Local artists and several Lewisville businesses have joined forces to stir up some support for the new Lewisville Center for the Creative Arts in a creative way. Members of Visual Art League, a Lewisville not-for-profit, along with a number of other artists, are turning boots into works of art that will be sold at auction to raise funds to help operate the gallery space in the City-owned arts facility now under construction in Old Town Lewisville.

Tribune Company picks Lewisville as home for new administrative subsidiary
 
   Tribune Company announced this week that its new subsidiary, Blue Lynx Media, has opened a shared service center in Lewisville where it is expected to provide jobs for as many as 200 new employees.

City, Toyota of Lewisville reach agreement on park naming
 
Railroad Park   The city has reached a 10-year, $1.5 million agreement with Toyota of Lewisville for naming rights of the city’s new 274-acre athletic complex, which now will be officially known as Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park. the contract was approved unanimously this evening by the Lewisville City Council.

City Council schedules budget workshop, public hearings
 
budget   Lewisville City Council will holds its annual budget workshop on Saturday, Aug. 7, starting at 8:30 a.m. City staff will present its proposed revenue and expenditures for the 2010-11 fiscal year that starts on October 1. The workshop is open to the public.

Farmers Market   The 2010 season for the Old Town Farmers Market opened May 15 and will run through Oct. 30, opening each Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until noon at Wayne Ferguson Plaza (North Poydras and Main).

Sun Valley Aquatic Park open
 
swimming   Sun Valley Aquatic Park, 801 S. Valley Parkway, has shifted to weekends-only operations through Labor Day, effective the weekend of Aug. 21-22. Old Town Auatic Park has ended its 2010 season. Remaining hours at Sun Valley are Saturday, 1-6 p.m.; Sunday, 2-6 p.m; and the season finale on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, noon-6 p.m.

Water Conservation Information
 
Water Conservation Information   The City of Lewisville is currently in Stage 1;Voluntary Conservation Stage of the Water Conservation and Emergency Water Management Plan. Stage 1 will remain in effect until further notice. This stage does recommend that all outdoor watering be done on the water customer's regularly scheduled garbage collection days.
